NCCCMA Announces New Director of Operations and Administration The NC City and County Managers Association (NCCCMA) has named Nate Lozinsky as its new Director of Operations and Administration. Selected by the Association’s Executive Committee following a comprehensive national search, Lozinsky will assume this leadership role and help guide the Association’s continued focus on promoting excellence in North Carolina local government management. He will succeed Rob Shepherd, who recently announced his retirement effective June 30th after more than 14 years of service as Executive Director. Lozinsky brings more than 20 years of North Carolina local government experience, including serving as a Fire Chief before retiring as Assistant to the Manager for the Town of Morrisville. Most recently, he served as Operations Manager and Client Coordinator for Development Associates, LLC. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia Southern University, a Master’s degree in Emergency Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Services Administration from Fayetteville State University. He has also completed additional professional development through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Government, earning certificates in Municipal and County Administration, Government Accounting and Financial Reporting, Budgeting for Local Governments, Basic Principles of Local Government Purchasing, and the CIVIC Fellows Leading for Results program. “The Search Committee considered outstanding candidates from across the country, but Nate stood out for his enthusiasm, technical skillset, and strategic vision,” said Lloyd Payne, NCCCMA President. “His independent problem-solving ability, passion for event planning, and deep commitment to public service make him the ideal Director for our Association at this time.” In his new role, Lozinsky will lead the implementation of the Association's strategic plan, coordinate the Winter and Summer Seminars, support Association committees and initiatives, oversee operations and finances, and help grow membership. Search Committee Chair and incoming President Eddie Smith added, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to work with Nate in his new role with the Association. His enthusiasm and energy are contagious, and he brings a fresh perspective with ideas to help all of us be the best versions of ourselves, both personally and professionally.” Lozinsky will start on April 6th shadowing Rob Shepherd until his retirement. “I’m excited for this new chapter in my career to provide high-level administrative leadership, strategic guidance, and operational support for one of the premier professional organizations in North Carolina. I am honored to support the Association’s mission of promoting excellence in local government and look forward to meeting current and future members from across our great state,” said Lozinsky.
